Depth of field, going back to the basics. Here are two shots which I had fun with taking. The shallow took some time and multiple tries whereas the great one I was able to get the first time. The shallow was done with the fabulous Nikon 50mm 1.4G, the great with the Nikon 35mm 1.8G. The shallow shot shows how dirty I’m willing to get to get the shot. The cab being at the corner was priceless. The other pics weren’t as good and it’s mostly due to the cab. The 3 inches of dirt that are in focus are ridiculously sharp and the color in them is interesting in it’s own right. The f/1.4 worked great. In the great shot, from the twigs all the way through the water to the cliffs are clear. Can you see the house at the top of the hill? I can 🙂 An f/10 was key to making this happen. Until next time, happy clicking!
